I started teaching at Sacred Hearts in 2022. I graduated from UW-Eau Claire in 2003. I moved to Madison to teach English as a Second Language in Verona Area School District and then shifted into Madison Metropolitan School District to work in second grade. During my time with second grade, I obtained my Masters in Education with a Reading Teacher license. I've always been intrigued by the reading development process. When my husband and I moved to Sun Prairie, I transitioned to an east-side of Madison school and taught 4th/5th grade multi-age. After five years teaching there, I shifted into an Instructional Coach role. As our kids started elementary school, I moved to the Sun Prairie Area School District as an Instructional Coach. I am thrilled to be part of fifth grade at Sacred Hearts and apply so much of what I've learned as a Coach into teaching literacy and social studies. Fifth grade has always had a special place in my heart.
I have two kids who attend Sacred Hearts, and they keep me busy outside of school with their activities and energy! Our family enjoys waterskiing and being outside, and I also enjoy running. I was drawn to Sacred Hearts - as a parent and a teacher - because of the caring community of adults and students. I'm looking forward to getting to know students and their families this year.
