This will be my first year teaching music at Sacred Hearts, and I am excited to be joining the school and community.
I grew up outside of Fond du Lac, Wisconsin and have been involved in music from an early age, beginning with guitar and piano lessons, and going on to perform at local venues in high school. I went on to get my B.A. in Music Business and Piano performance from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville. At UW-Platteville I participated in several performing groups including Wind Ensemble, Jazz Ensemble and the University Singers. I also worked at Pioneer Studios recording studio and had a show on WSUP campus radio.
I moved to the Madison area in 2005, and built a career as guitar and piano instructor at Madison-area private music schools, as well as a professional guitarist and pianist, performing both solo and in groups at local venues. One of my favorite experiences over the last 15+ years of teaching has been organizing, leading and facilitating group lessons/performances.
In my spare time I enjoy cooking, gardening, and watching Wisconsin sports. In the summer, my favorite activities are camping and spending time at the cabin in Minnesota. My wife and I live in Madison and have two cats, Guinness and Koa.
I truly believe that the arts are an essential part in enriching a community. I hope to instill a lifelong interest in and appreciation for music in the students and community of Sacred Hearts.
