I am so excited to be joining the Sacred Hearts school family and community this year as a Kindergarten teacher! I began my teaching career in 1994 teaching 3rd grade in Memphis City Schools. Three years later, my husband’s job transferred us to Wisconsin where I have been teaching Kindergarten in the Diocese of Madison for the past 24 years. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Communications from St. Ambrose University in Davenport, Iowa and earned my Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of Memphis.
I was raised on a grain and beef farm in Iowa and think of myself as an Iowa farm girl married to a Tennessee city boy! After living in Tennessee for 12 years, Tom and I successfully transplanted our two girls Abby and Anna to Wisconsin in 1997 to the village known as “The Only Waunakee in the World.” Yes, this means we now officially root for all Wisconsin sports teams!
Tom and I are extremely grateful for our two daughters and son-in-laws, five grandchildren, cat, and one grandpuppy. I love spending time with my family and pets, driving the country roads, reading, gardening, and feeding the birds (as well as all the other woodland critters).
I am looking forward to working with the Sacred Heart’s students, families, and staff to bring a Kindergarten year filled with faith, learning, caring & sharing!
