Sacred Hearts Parish and School have been a part of my life for over 20 years: parishioner, school parent, volunteer, substitute teacher and Middle School Math Teacher. My own education included attending Catholic schools through 7th grade, which led our family to the idea of enrolling here at Sacred Hearts when our eldest was eligible for pre-3. Both of my children (and my father-in-law) are SHJMS alumni. During my time as a substitute teacher here, I decided to return to school for teacher licensure. Since my Bachelor’s Degree from North Carolina State University included two year’s of engineering classes, prior to earning my Communications with a Public Relations concentration degree, I was able to complete my licensure for dual certification from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota: English and Math. I choose to teach Math as it’s always been a passion of mine to make it accessible for all students.
Our family loves to travel visiting family and friends. During the school year, much of my time outside of school is spent attending my children’s events and athletic games plus watching my Steelers play football in the fall. However, during the summer I am free to enjoy binge reading (oftentimes 20+ novels), paddle boarding, marathon Monopoly or Uno games with the family, and boating!
As a Catholic School educator, I often share with others about our unique learning environment which is created by an incredible partnership with caregivers, students and staff.
